HID R10 card reader is pivCLASS mini-mullion contactless card reader suitable for use in security areas meeting the criteria FIPS-201 for “Controlled” access. When used in conjunction with HID pivCLASS Authentication Module (PAM), the reader provides strong authentication ensuring that the card being presented is genuine; the data on the card has not been changed or manipulated; and the card is not a copy or clone of another card. The HID R10 reader supports and reads any PIV-based cards with an ISO 14443 contactless interface and containing a Card Authentication Key (CAK) certificate.
